Hiking on Fremont Ridge, late in the day. The big rolling ridges and hills are bright green with new spring grass, which the late afternoon sun ignites to green flame. A hilltop grove of Coast Live Oaks is dark and shady. Off to the left a ridge-top windbreak of giant old Eucalyptus trees cast their shadows across the grass.
