The top of Fremont Ridge is a line of giant eucalyptus trees. As you walk down a path beside Fremont ridge, the sunset throws silhouettes of the huge old trees against the grassy slopes of a neighboring ridge. I love their patterns against the green hills, cool shadows interspersed with orange light. Hence the painting's title: Sunset Eucalyptus.
